3 basic characteristics of upholstery fabrics

At Comersan we are an active part of the design, manufacture and installation of all our projects, which gives us a background of decades knowing each fabric and enhancing the advantages of each material.

When it comes to upholstery, we are going to give you three characteristics that should never be missing if we want an aesthetic and long-lasting result .

High strength fabrics

Rocks, sitting, lying down... Undoubtedly, fabrics suitable for upholstery must show high resistance. The most important thing is to be sure that they will remain good after intensive use.

At Comersan, we have our own laboratory within our facilities, where we subject our fabrics to physical tests with abrasion, pilling, seam slippage, tensile strength and tear strength tests.

Based on these results, we categorized the upholstery with stars to indicate its resistance.

The importance of easy washing

Design and practicality must go hand in hand in any project, even more so if we are talking about restaurants, transit areas or bars. In this case, easy cleaning is the best guarantee that the space will remain as clean as the first day.

Fire retardant fabrics, safety first and foremost

Safety had to be one of the three most important features. Most of our fabrics comply with flame retardant standards for upholstery.

In this post of our Academy section, we explain in detail the rules and their classification.

Comersan collections, which are the most popular?

At Comersan, everything is one hundred percent customized and we help you make the best decisions.
